Summertime

Fenske 2008

The mosquitoes swarmed. The black flies bit. Ella lost her first tooth and the tooth fairy found her up north in a tent. Mattie swam all the way out to the buoys and back. Camping for the first time with three children, Kris and I felt like we were complete novices in the land of camping. How does one make dinner with no stove, no refrigerator, a baby and 2 starving preschoolers? Next year we anticipate more prepared parents and an even better time.

Ella on Fenske: I loved the marshmallows.
Mattie on Fenske: and chocolate!
E: Also, I loved the biffy and that we could go potty in the woods.
M: And we went swimming out to the buoys! I didn't like the bugs, though.
